Looking at FFXI now, the Wings of the Goddess expansion is just so...uninspired. Sure CoP had level capped areas (OMG the horrors of challenges!), but that felt fun and rewarding. I mean, it's one thing to have to spend 5 to 7 some hours just walking with an extreme likelyhood of death and starting over, but to do it across continents and areas you've already seen thousands of times? And of course, my personal favorite thing about MMO's; unnecessary/illogical detours! Sure, present day you see nothing but open plains and fields. Now go back twenty years ago and you have to forcibly hike through the three (count'm! three!) totally new areas to get anywhere. Cause what was a field twenty ago is actually a cliff, or a stack of boulders, or a fence that only comes up to your knees!

Whoops, sorry. Got off on a rant there, but the game has become less fun and more like a stall for me. Sure it has it's high points, but it takes too long to get to those points. But who am I kidding, if MMO's didn't have grind no one would piss money playing them. I just wish it didn't feel like SE is grasping for straws when they start calling changing the colors of monster's names an improvement to the battle system.

In other news; I was busy in April. Wrote three whole shorts and now just trying to find some free time to proof read them. Since I've all but quit FFXI it's a bit strange to realize just how distracting MMO's can be. Those things are insane time killers. Don't expect much in the way of diverse plots. I do like working on OtF and Elemental, it's just a little harder since they're sorta ongoing with no clear goal. I'm finding smaller works much easier to make because they're to the point and fun. Besides I'm well out of practice and this sudden increase in drive is a good time to pick away at the laundry list of vignette ideas I've compiled since...high school!? My god, I'm lazy! >o.O;<
